Documents for work and residence in the Czech Republic

A Czech authority or employer will give you the list of documents, so have it ready before ordering. It may include personal documents such as a passport, a birth or marriage certificate and a driving licence. For work, people are sometimes also asked for a translated diploma with its supplement, employment certificates and a criminal record certificate.

We spell your name in Latin letters exactly as in your international passport. Please add a photo of it to the order. That way your surname looks the same in every translation for the Czech Republic. Passports, certificates, driving licences and other documents of this kind are covered on the personal documents page.

Sworn translation for Czech authorities

For some documents a Czech authority may require a translation by a translator sworn in the Czech Republic itself. There such a translator is called a court translator (soudní tlumočník). We arrange sworn translation for the Czech Republic. How long it takes depends on the country. For the Czech Republic, your manager will tell you in advance, together with the price.

Exactly what you need is best confirmed by the institution that will accept your documents. If you cannot find out there, tell your manager where and why you are submitting them. They will suggest a suitable type of translation.

Agency stamp or notarisation

When a sworn translator is not required, many institutions accept a translation with the agency stamp. A notarised translation is made when the institution asks for it: the translator puts their signature under the text, and a notary confirms it is genuine. Consulates and courts often ask for a notarised translation, as do public authorities in Ukraine and abroad.

When a Czech document is needed in Ukraine

Sometimes it is the other way round. A certificate, court decision or statement was issued in the Czech Republic and now has to be submitted in Ukraine. We translate such a document from Czech into Ukrainian, and Ukrainian institutions often want a notary to certify the translator's signature. Whether the document itself also needs an apostille is a separate question. Ukraine has legal assistance treaties with some countries that exempt documents from it. Your manager will tell you how this works for your Czech document as soon as they see the photo.

Diplomas and school certificates obtained in the Czech Republic are recognised in Ukraine through nostrification at the Ministry of Education and Science. We help with the consultation, the translation and the submission, and the ministry takes from 1 to 3 months to decide.

Apostille on Ukrainian documents

If a Czech authority asks for an apostille on a Ukrainian document, it is issued by one of four ministries, depending on the document. The Ministry of Justice handles birth and marriage certificates, court decisions and notarised powers of attorney. Diplomas and school certificates go to the Ministry of Education and Science, criminal record certificates to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Everything else is done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We take the documents to the ministry ourselves, so you do not have to. The ministry's processing time is added to the deadline, although diplomas and school certificates can be done faster at the Ministry of Education and Science. Each ministry's usual timing is given on the Apostille page.

Who works on the Czech text

After the translator, every translation is read by an editor, who compares each figure, date, name and stamp with the original. When needed, a native Czech speaker proofreads the text. Your order manager stays in touch until the end, answers your questions, watches the deadline and writes to you as soon as everything is ready. Translations for the Czech Republic, like all others, come with a lifetime guarantee: we will always meet you halfway, whatever the situation.

Price, turnaround and ordering from the Czech Republic

Prices start from UAH 250 for one standard document. Your manager will quote the exact price from the photo before you pay, and the Pricing page helps you estimate the cost yourself. One working day is usually enough for a passport, certificate or diploma. An urgent translation, depending on the language and the volume, is ready within a few hours or in 1–2 working days.

You do not have to travel to Kosiv for a translation. Photograph the document in daylight, without a flash and in full, with its stamps and signatures, and take the back with any stamps as a separate shot. We accept photos via WhatsApp, Viber and Telegram, and by email at info@admiral.com.ua. You can pay from abroad too: by card from any bank via a link, through PayPal or by bank transfer. The finished translation arrives as a file, and Nova Poshta can deliver the paper copy with stamps abroad as well.
